An accident would be fatal, so deadly when falling foreward on the road with a speed of about 100 km.
All tests with almost all shoes failed. Two kinds could be used, but not as easy and elegant like the arabs did it. So they looked to that movie very careful and found out that it was not fake, but real. But it could just be done under special conditions. Special shoes, a very special roadsurface and temperature and some other conditions. That was how the arabs did it.
So the end conclusion was: no fake but real, but under very special conditions
